As the World Falls Down Around Me - Seattle, WA

Every afternoon as the day creeps towards sunset I find myself wondering if I should go out and take some pictures. The same happens in the early hours of the morning when I'm awake. Sometimes this  nagging feeling that can only be destroyed by making moves.... so on most nights I go out and try to capture something cool.

Here is a unique capture of a random man sitting and watching the sunset over the water.

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow - Seattle, WA

I have a pretty solid urge to head out and shoot on the Olympic Peninsula this weekend. The rain forest is always an amazing place to wander or snap off some shots. There is one lonely spot left in my Online Star Photography Post Processing Group Workshop who wants it?

Here is another shot from one of my fav locations, the Seattle Waterfront.

Sunset 473 - Seattle Waterfront

There are days when I could write forever and others where there just isn't much to say. On the other hand I just got a massive amount of photography tutorial work done today, so don't count it against me:)

The Shot
It's fun to find a picture sitting on your computer that you processed a long time ago. I keep all my finished photos in iPhoto and right now I have 100 of them waiting to be posted. Hopefully inspiration will stay high and that number will grow. Enough rambling here is a standard Seattle sunset from the waterfront.

Night Hawks

Got home from Maui yesterday afternoon sporting a hangover and 3000 pictures. This morning was spent trashing the bad ones and organizing the good ones in Lightroom 4. Who else hates that task? I really wanted to put it off but figured I'd be productive.

PS: I just put up the new page for my Summer Star Photography Workshops, so if you've been wanting  to learn, here is your chance:)

The Shot
This is my first posted shot using my new Nikkor 16mm f/2.8 fisheye lens & man this thing is amazing. I have been using it nearly as much as my 14-24mm lately. I'll post a review on my Lens Reviews Page later this afternoon.

The No Camera Weekend

So I tried something new on my trip back to the east coast this past weekend, what was it you ask? Well, I decided to leave my camera in Seattle and see how things went without it following me around everywhere I go. The truth is I'm gonna pull this stunt more often, it allowed me to do some fun stuff I wouldn't normally have done, along with providing an awesome mental break.

The Shot
The newest edition to my PACNW Top 50 Set on Flickr, if you are in the area this set will help you find a ton of great spots to shoot. Every picture is geo-tagged with the location so have at it:)

In Search of Composition

Sometimes I see pictures from different cities & think I know what the place is all about or what it might be like when I actually visit. Some pictures portray a place or moment perfectly, others are a bit tricky. I don't think Seattle looks anything like the picture below, but I still find it to be an intriguing shot.
