As Paths Crossed & Diverged - San Francisco, California

Went out for a nice sunset shoot in Seattle tonight with my Buddy Aman. The sunset was decent but hopefully we got some good shots of the Aurora bridge, a place that I finally made it to after living in Seattle for the past 2 years. The shot below was processed using some techniques from Jaimie Ibarra, his work is absolutely awesome and his tutorial is great as well.

The Shot
San Francisco's China town is a blast, during the day, but my favorite time to shoot there is dusk. All of the Chinese style lamps light up and give the city streets an amazing glow. This guys gave a quick glance before going back to his instrument.

Not All That Wander Are Lost - Central Park, NYC

Just got back from a weekend on the Oregon Coast where the weather didn't play along quite as well as last weekend. We did catch a really awesome moon rise over the water and found an amazing camping spot on the ocean which made up for the lack of nice light.

On another note I have put up the new dates for my Online Star Photography Post Processing Group Workshop, grab a spot or email me with questions:)

The Shot
This classic view from Central Park in New York City was taken early one morning on my last day in the city. You really can't beat grabbing a coffee and bagel from a street stand and wandering the paths of the park before the sun comes up.

Goodbye, Blue Sky - Seattle, WA

A bit late on the post today, but sleep was necessary at some point. Does anyone ever stay awake so long that going to sleep doesn't even sound fun anymore? It's almost like you just want the adventure to continue once everything starts to feel strange and loopy... or maybe I am just one strange guy!

The Shot
One of my favorite movies over the past few years has been The Wall, by Pink Floyd which you can now watch for free on YouTube. None the less this picture really reminds me of a few scenes that play over and over again throughout the film. If you haven't seen it, well start watching...

Sounds of the City - San Francisco, California

Due to high demand upon selling out my first two star workshops, I opened another in August. Find out more at my Under the Stars Summer Workshops Page.

The Shot
Downtown San Francisco is a great place for street photography, here is a random snapshot I took while exploring the city. I always find it a fun and amuzing game to see what I can turn into an interesting shot.

If Only in My Mind - Snoqualmie National Forest

Well I folded once again and bought tickets to ULTRA Music Festival, nothing like random decisions at the last minute. It should be another awesome 3 day weekend in Miami FL.

You can find all my tutorials at: www.DaveMorrowPhotography.com/learnphotography

The Shot
I gotta mix things up once in a while so here it goes... This night brought a vivid sunset, but instead of shooting directly into the sun I decided to walk around in the woods for a bit and see what I could find. The light through the trees was vivid and dreamy and the sound of nothing was ever-present. Feel free to use it as your desktop background.

Sunset 473 - Seattle Waterfront

There are days when I could write forever and others where there just isn't much to say. On the other hand I just got a massive amount of photography tutorial work done today, so don't count it against me:)

The Shot
It's fun to find a picture sitting on your computer that you processed a long time ago. I keep all my finished photos in iPhoto and right now I have 100 of them waiting to be posted. Hopefully inspiration will stay high and that number will grow. Enough rambling here is a standard Seattle sunset from the waterfront.

When I Got the Music

I may have had a bit to much fun last night cause the after effects are kickin' in right now. None the less good times and good music, you can't beat that right?

The Shot
Sometimes simple "snapshots" are really fun, I clicked this off in the Queen Anne District of Seattle and processed it using one of Trey Ratcliff's Lightroom 4 Presets. Does anyone have some recommendations for some fun presets that I can download? I always find them to be an inspirational way to start or finish a picture.

The Streets of Reykjavik

Just got done driving the Road to Hana and caught one of the best sunsets I have ever seen. WOW what a night...

The Shot
While walking around Reykjavik Iceland I found an outdoor park that served beer and had a dj and on the turntables... pretty sweet spot actually. There was graffiti all over the place, here was one of my favorite captures of fat pig that I usually find ruining all the fun. What started as a few beers and some music eventually turned into a great night of bar hopping. When the sun never sets it's hard to stop, that being said, Iceland got the best of me.
